2 Baba Visits IDP, Blesses them With His Voice And Donations

Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface or 2Baba has blessed displaced persons and soldiers at internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Borno State with his music.

Tuface toured camps in Ngala, Bakasi and Maiduguri where he sang some of his popular songs to the admiration of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and soldiers who he interacted with in the process.
They sang and danced to his popular songs, which is a rare sight at the camps
The tour is a sequel to the musician’s visit to an IDP camp last month where he promised to donate 60 per cent of the proceeds of a new song – Hold My Hand – to IDPs through the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR.

Tuface partnered with UNHCR last year and made his first donation of over $11,000 in February through his Tuface Foundation to aid in humanitarian efforts in the state and help alleviate the plight of IDPs.
This is the first by any celebrity in Nigeria.
“For me, my voice and how I use it would be my own little way of contributing. And I invite all well-meaning Nigerians to do same,” the musician told the media as he called on Nigerians to play a role in bringing the crisis to an end.
He also hailed the Nigerian soldiers at the camps for the work they are doing to protect lives.
“It’s not easy what these guys are doing, I give them kudos and I ask every Nigerian to give them all the support they can give,” he said.
UNHCR Head of Missions in Borno, Caesar Tsav, lauded the initiative and promised the partnership with the 2Baba will yield more results.
2Baba has been active on the music scene as a singer-songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur since 1994 with awards including MTV Europe Music Award, World Music Award, Headies Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards and BET award for his musical work among others.
His popular songs include the 2004 single African Queen, Officially Blind and If Love Is A Crime.
